LABORATORY DIAGNOSTICS

Laboratory diagnostics is an extremely accurate and painless examination that does not require prior medical consultation. The results—depending on the requested tests—are diagnosed and evaluated as quickly as possible.

The collected blood, urine, or stool samples provide an accurate picture of the state of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, various endocrine glands (e.g., thyroid, adrenal glands), digestive system, and even the kidneys. Using the most modern laboratory diagnostic procedures, we can detect altered physiological functions that signal problems even before any physically noticeable changes occur in the body, making it a serious preventive tool for our patients. Through laboratory diagnostics, even the development of a serious illness can be prevented, and it also contributes to the healing process of patients, playing an important role in maintaining their health.

WHAT LABORATORY TESTS ARE AVAILABLE AT EVERGREEN HEALTH?

Evergreen Health offers a wide range of tests for its patients based on collected samples:

  • Allergy Tests: examination of the presence of specific antibodies against respiratory allergens, foods, and insect stings (bee/hornet)
  • Biochemical Tests: examination of the functioning and pathological changes of various organs, systems, and regulatory systems (liver, kidneys, muscles, bones, heart, lungs, fluid and metabolic parameters, etc.)
  • Genetic Tests: diagnosis of hereditary disease predispositions
  • Hematological Tests: determination of the composition of the blood-forming system, its pathological cells, and quantitative deviations
  • Hormone Tests: determination of hormone levels to identify disorders, deficiencies, and malfunctions of hormone-producing organs
  • Immunological Tests: examination of autoantibodies (antibodies produced against cells and organs in the body), disorders causing immune deficiency, and immune function
  • Clinical Chemistry Tests: assessment of the general state of the body, detection of inflammation, and assessment of the functioning and possible damage of specific organs (liver, kidney, heart, pancreas, bones)
  • Microbiological Tests: detection of infectious pathogens (bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa) and measurement of antibody levels
  • Stress Laboratory Tests: laboratory tests to evaluate organ function and metabolic processes
  • Tumor Marker Tests: confirmation or exclusion of the presence of various tumors in combination with imaging diagnostics
  • Vitamin and Trace Element Tests: measurement of substances essential for optimal body functioning (e.g., copper, zinc)
  • Coagulation Tests: examination of inherited and acquired disorders of the highly complex blood coagulation system

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE LAB TEST?

Evergreen Health has the necessary official permits and appropriate professional experience to perform professionally based laboratory tests. It is advisable to have laboratory tests performed early in the day. It is recommended to consume at least 3-5 deciliters of water from the time of waking until the blood draw, as dehydration constricts the blood vessels and reduces blood flow. Certain medications can alter the results of laboratory tests and lead to misdiagnosis. In this case, it is wise to consult a specialist before sample collection about the prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and dietary supplements you regularly take. In some cases, the doctor may request that certain medications be stopped 24-48 hours before the blood draw or sample submission. For fasting blood tests, avoid eating (solid foods, especially those high in protein and fat, fruit juices, sugary drinks, and especially alcohol) for 10-12 hours before the blood draw. For instance, the glucose tolerance/insulin resistance test requires specific dietary criteria to be followed 2-3 days prior to the blood test. Therefore, it is important to consult your specialist or inquire about Evergreen Health's testing procedures beforehand.
