Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine, abbreviated as TCM, is a collective term for traditional medical practices originating from China, which is regarded as a complementary medical system in much of the Western world and Europe, while being part of primary healthcare in Asia.
It is called 'traditional' because it has a written and experiential history spanning thousands of years. This knowledge, rooted in a rich past, continues to evolve. It is referred to as 'Chinese' because this unique medical perspective and healing method originates from China.
Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners possess sophisticated diagnostic and treatment methods. For a trained and experienced physician, external signs of illness, such as skin changes, eye color, and the patient's behavior, carry important information. This is further refined through questioning and examinations.
